hotel imperial vienna

The Vienna waltz originated here and its centuries-old spirit still permeates the city's dancehalls. Excellent room service and loved the little tortes placed on our pillows at night for the turn down service. I was getting ready to entertain some friends in the beautiful bar before we went out to dinner when a crowd of about 60 people stormed into the bar and set up a full fledged video shoot complete with two very obnoxious still photographers. Bathrooms are basic and can be a bit cramped, but they do pack in an incredible amount of marble around the double-sink vanities and walk-in rainfall showers. The sumptuous surroundings of the Luxury Collection Hotel in Vienna were originally created in 1863 as the Vienna residence of the Prince of Wuerttemberg.

The staff at Hotel Imperial will kindly show you to your suite, however, from my experience nothing beyond that. The AC worked which as is much needed in August. They were very kind and helpful. Originally one of the private residences for the Prince of Wurttemberg, the Hotel Imperial is a luxury hotel steeped in a history that dates back to the glory days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

The bathroom was large, with heated floors and both rain and regular showerheads.Nightly turndown service included a tiny Imperal Torte for each of us, as well as plentiful bottled water. The hotel's location is ideal, on the edge of the historic city center / Innere Stadt, within walking distance of everything but just far enough away to feel a little more relaxed and quiet (at least with a room facing away from the Ringstrasse, as ours did).Really ideal, and I don't say that in many reviews. We stayed at The Imperial for six days in one of the Elizabeth Suites. There was also a chef who could make omelettes. The included breakfast was better than average, and I have to admit some of the best scrambled eggs I've ever had.

Their signature Imperial Torte is amazingly  delicious so It s a pity that their signature Cafe food   is not  a match .

We found the staff upon check in literally tripping on themselves to help us. We made all the arrangements and requested all reservations 8 months prior to our arrival, so there was really no excuse for this mistake.Room service was excellent!!!! My Suite Night Awards (SNA) cleared for our stay here and we were upgraded to the Elisabeth Suite.

Highly recommended. Definitely a good variety to choose from. The Hotel Imperial has been welcoming members of royal families, politicians and other international opinion leaders ever since it opened in 1873 as the first luxury hotel in Vienna.

Please check our partner sites when booking to verify that details are still correct.

A landmark of the Ringstrasse, Hotel Imperial is centrally located near some of the city's most famous cultural destinations. There was not a mistake taken and all was to perfection,Buffet breakfast is a total waste of money and it is not included in your stay. See all photos from Michael K. for Hotel Imperial a Luxury Collection Hotel, Vienna. Die Crème de la Crème of European hotels! My room was very comfortable - great shower, very comfortable bed, etc - exactly the sort of thing I need from a hotel. That to me takes away three stars. We found many other hotels to smell of smoke or very dark. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This is especially convenient if you are planning to go to the concerts at either the St Charles Church ( Mozart requiem - a must go!!!)

The staff were graciously courteous and offered informed directions to my points if interest. It is a classically beautiful 19th century palace that grants you the right to feel like royalty during your stay. They were all reserved by Imperials's Concierge. This hotel was inviting, lovely and opulent. Expect to pay extra for breakfast and Wi-Fi. We were on the 4th floor that was just remodeled.

Suites come with a personal butler -- who will tag along on shopping trips, Historic landmark with rich history and decor, Great restaurant and cafe, both serve fine Viennese specialties, Bar and salon with live classical pianists, Fee for Wi-Fi (after initial free, but limited connection). room with a balcony and full size doors that I could open to keep the room nice and cool as I slept, the perfect recipe for sleeping like a baby. The structure survived both World Wars and for over a decade served as a post-war Soviet headquarters, re-opening as a hotel again in 1958.

Of course the hotel is gorgeous, with lots of interesting history.

Breakfast was free for Platinum SPG members and it was tasty, but we definitely enjoyed other SPG buffets a bit more on the trip. This is not just a figure of speech, but reflects the truth! Also, when planning to dine in town be sure to have the concierge book a reservation for you! The Hotel Imperial is located perfectly within Vienna and offers a taste of luxury and personality you don't often find in hotels.

However, a lot has happened in the past 150 years, so let us tell you the story of our house. One plus is that breakfast is served from 7-11am. This is where I will stay any future visits to Vienna. The bar by the lobby is great. The hotel really is very luxurious.

The Imperial Hotel was built for Royalty - It was the Vienna residence of the Prince of Württemberg until 1873 when the hotel was opened to visiting dignitaries like you.

Sadly they have turned it into a glorified convention center that is more focused on herding people through then providing personalized exceptional service. As a bonus, we were given a corner room, affording us extra space and a second window (both were doors opening onto small balconies), with the bathroom around a corner in the room. I hope I can always afford to stay here. However, with such high rates, guests would expect extra facilities such as a spa, if not a marble riding stable (there actually used to be one, but it has since been converted into an event hall). So right there they nearly won me over also with the chocolate and pastry options. Really great experience - I booked this room using points, and for the same number of points per night as a lot of less unique hotels. Great service too. That is why the newer hotels are taking over these want to be grand hotels.

Upper floors house the smaller classic rooms who trade a great deal of pomp for more commanding views of the city. Everything is gold and crystal and oak and ornamental... from the moment you arrive, you know this is a palatial hotel that prides itself on luxury; prepare your credit card!We were assigned a butler and stayed in one of the two-story rooms. Our train arrived around 6:30am and we go to the hotel around 7:00am and they readied a room for us!

But as a points redemption, this is a pretty great option. However, Nicole had the staff of Hotel Imperial beat by really being very hospitable and welcoming. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Vienna! I doubt we'd stay here again just because it feels a little too stuffy, but I totally get that we're probably not the audience they're going for. We were lucky to find out by accident before going to the restaurant.Breakfast buffet: WTF for about 40 euro per person plus services and tip. We stayed at the Deluxe suite for 5 nights and had nothing to say but full-hearted praises. That beat my earliest check-in at a hotel by about 2 hours!

If you dine in the area be sure to have the hotel concierge make the reservation for you - that referral will get you the best table at the restaurant. Some claim that this hotel reserves its best service for known guests, and that does make them snobbish I suppose, but I've always experienced five star service there so I can't consider this hotel anything other than five star. Save room for the Imperial Torte, esp the black orange one.

I started staying there in the 1980s with my parents when visiting Vienna. The higher the hat, the fancier it is.

We had one of the best views in Vienna, looking out over the, Fresh fruit was brought to our room daily, along with the wonderful turn down service with a bottle of water and, We just stayed three nights here in Aug 2019. Even the food was reasonable (by that time my standards came down a bit). I would not have paid what the hotel was charging, it's usually robbery, and you could probably do better for less (although without as much of a selection, probably) in any number of coffee houses. We would highly recommend it. However, a lot has happened in the past 150 years, so let us tell you the story of our house.

Catering to your individual wishes is our top priority, whether at the Café Imperial Wien, the exclusive Restaurant OPUS, or in our elegant banquet rooms, magnificent halls or suites.

Then all you need are your friends and family who know all the underground, fabulous, obscure places to visit - and you have the whole shebang! It was so quiet we felt like we were the only people staying in the hotel.
